Privacy Policy

Who we are

Blendify (the website https://www.blendify-dating.com and the Blendify apps for iOS and Android) is operated by its founder, a sole proprietor based in Israel ("Blendify", "we", "us"). We are the controller (database owner) of the personal data described here. Contact: support@blendify-dating.com.

This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have. Blendify is for adults aged 18 and over.

What we collect

Account data: your email address, your password (stored only by our sign-in provider, in hashed form — we never see it) and account identifiers.

Profile data you provide: name, date of birth, gender, the genders you want to meet, bio, interests, photos, prompt answers, and the town or city you choose to show.

Location: if you choose "use my location", your device's position is used to find your area. We store it rounded to about 1 km, never your precise location, and other users only see your town and an approximate distance.

Activity data: compatibility-quiz answers, swipes and likes, matches, messages, AI practice sessions and usage counts, Blend IRL activity choices, achievements, reports and blocks you file, and your subscription status.

Payment data: subscriptions are processed by Apple, Google or PayPal. We receive only the plan, status and renewal dates — never your card or bank details.

Device and technical data: a push-notification token (if you allow notifications), and technical data such as your IP address (used for security and rate limiting), device type and app version.

Communications: messages you send to support@blendify-dating.com.

Sensitive information and your consent

Some information you give us is sensitive under privacy laws: the genders you want to meet can reveal your sexual orientation, and some optional quiz questions touch on topics such as religion, politics and family plans.

We use this information only to show you compatible people and compatibility scores, and other users can see only what appears on your public profile. By providing it you explicitly consent to this use. The quiz is optional, you can change your answers or profile at any time, and you can withdraw your consent by deleting the information or your account.

Signing in with Google or Apple

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us, and we keep only your email address, to create your account and sign you in. If you choose "Continue with Apple", Apple shares your email address (or a private relay address if you choose Hide My Email) and, the first time only, your name; we use them only to create your account and sign you in.

We never receive your Google or Apple password. We do not use data from Google or Apple for advertising, we do not sell it, and we share it with no one except Amazon Web Services, which runs our sign-in system on our behalf. Your Google or Apple sign-in data is deleted together with your account. You can also remove Blendify's access at any time from your Google Account (Security → Third-party connections) or Apple ID (Sign in with Apple) settings.

How we use it, and our legal bases

To provide Blendify (performance of our contract with you): creating your account, showing your profile to compatible people, calculating compatibility scores and distances, delivering matches, messages and notifications, running AI features, and managing subscriptions.

With your consent: processing the sensitive information described above, using your device location, and sending push notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app or your device settings.

For legitimate interests — keeping Blendify safe and working: preventing fraud, spam, scams and abuse, enforcing our Terms, investigating reports, securing our systems, fixing errors and improving features.

To comply with the law: responding to lawful requests from authorities and meeting tax, accounting and legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not show third-party ads.

Automated processing and AI

Matching and compatibility scores are calculated automatically from your profile and quiz answers. They decide the order in which people are suggested — they do not produce legal or similarly significant effects.

AI features (icebreakers, date ideas and the practice coach) send the relevant profile or conversation text to our AI provider, Amazon Bedrock (running Meta Llama models), to generate a reply. This data is not used to train those models. Practice-coach personas are fictional, and AI replies can be inaccurate — please don't share sensitive personal details with the coach.

Uploaded photos are checked automatically by the same AI service for nudity and other rule violations, and a photo may be rejected as a result. If you think a decision is wrong, contact support@blendify-dating.com and a person will review it. We do not use facial recognition and do not create biometric templates from your photos.

Who can see what

Other users see your public profile: name, age, gender, bio, interests, photos, prompts, your town and an approximate distance — never your email address, exact location or date of birth. Your matches also see the messages you send them.

Blendify's administrators can access accounts, profiles and messages when this is needed to investigate a report, protect users' safety, prevent fraud or abuse, respond to a legal request or fix a technical problem — not otherwise. Access is limited to the people who operate Blendify.

Who we share it with

Service providers that process data on our behalf, each receiving only what its job requires:

• Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, sign-in, photo storage, maps/geocoding, AI processing and sending account emails)

• Expo, Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (delivering push notifications)

• Apple, Google and PayPal (processing subscription payments) and RevenueCat (managing app-store subscriptions)

• Zoho (our support email inbox)

• Sentry (error and crash reports, if enabled — technical data only)

We may also disclose information when required by law or a valid legal request, to protect someone's life or safety, to investigate fraud or a breach of our Terms, or as part of a sale or transfer of the Blendify business (the new owner would be bound by this policy).

International transfers

Blendify is operated from Israel. Our main servers are in Ireland (EU), and some providers — including the AI service, Expo, RevenueCat, PayPal and Sentry — process data in the United States or elsewhere. Where data leaves the EU/UK, we rely on adequacy decisions (the EU recognises Israel as providing adequate protection) or on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework used by our providers.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, matches, messages and the rest of your data are erased immediately, and encrypted database backups that may still contain them are overwritten within 7 days. When you unmatch someone, the conversation is deleted for both of you.

Technical logs are kept for up to 30 days. If your account is banned, we keep the information needed to enforce the ban and to deal with any related legal claim. Billing records held by Apple, Google or PayPal follow their own retention rules, and we may keep records we are legally required to keep.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Photos are stored privately and served only through our content network, and access to production systems is restricted and logged. No online service can guarantee absolute security; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.

In the app: Profile → Privacy & data → Export my data (download everything we store about you), edit your profile at any time, or Profile → Privacy & data → Delete account (permanently erases your data). For anything else, email support@blendify-dating.com; we answer within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.

You may also complain to a data-protection authority — in Israel the Privacy Protection Authority, in the EU/UK your local supervisory authority. Residents of California and other US states: we do not sell or "share" personal information as those laws define it, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website stores your sign-in session in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Age requirement

Blendify is for adults only. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Underage accounts are deleted when detected — please report them from any profile or to support@blendify-dating.com.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
